About Intropic

Intropic provides data and analytics on event-driven situations in global equity markets: index rebalances, M&A, equity capital markets activity and shareholder positioning. Our products help hedge fund investment and trading teams anticipate flows and size opportunities around these events. We work with leading hedge funds worldwide and are growing our Equity L/S business, where we see the largest opportunity with fundamental and multi-manager investment teams.

The Role

Intropic is hiring a business development lead for our Equity L/S business. You will own relationships with investment teams (PMs and analysts) at hedge funds in the US and Europe, bring Intropic's data and analytics into their investment process, and help grow Equity L/S into a global business. The role can be based in London or New York.

Who we're looking for

The most important thing is direct, trusted relationships with hedge fund investment teams at both PM and analyst level. Strong candidates often come from a buy-side data or research provider, sell-side sales, sell-side equity research, or sales trading where relationships extend to PMs and analysts.

What you'll do

  • Open doors at hedge funds in the US and Europe, prioritising PMs and analysts on fundamental and multi-manager platforms
  • Run the full sales cycle: introductions, discovery, demos, trials, commercial negotiation and close
  • Understand each team's investment process and position Intropic where it adds the most value
  • Build and manage a global pipeline, with clear reporting on activity, conversion and revenue
  • Feed client insight back to product and research to shape the roadmap for hedge fund users
  • Represent Intropic at industry events, client dinners and conferences
  • Help shape our Equity L/S go-to-market and, over time, the build-out of the team

Must have

  • An established network across US and European hedge funds, with direct PM and analyst relationships
  • Several years in a client-facing role serving hedge fund investment teams
  • A track record of opening new accounts and growing revenue or client engagement
  • A solid understanding of how fundamental and multi-manager funds generate ideas and make decisions
  • A self-starter who is comfortable building a new business line with a small team

Nice to have

  • Experience selling data, research or analytics to the buy side
  • Familiarity with event-driven themes: index rebalances, M&A, ECM or positioning
  • Experience as an early hire building a new market or office

Regular travel to clients in the US and Europe is expected.
