Role Responsibilities
As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of operational delivery within your designated area, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking overall responsibility for safety, quality, cost control, customer satisfaction, and programme delivery.
- Planning and implementing operational procedures to ensure construction activities, project schedules and key milestones are successfully achieved.
- Leading, motivating and developing supervisory teams, direct labour, and subcontractors to deliver outstanding performance.
- Managing resources effectively, including subcontractors and suppliers, to achieve optimum productivity and value for money.
- Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with company policies, procedures, health and safety requirements, environmental standards, and quality expectations.
- Championing a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and right-first-time delivery.
- Monitoring project performance to ensure programme targets, operational objectives and business goals are consistently achieved.
- Managing multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously while maintaining exacting standards of delivery.
- Undertaking technical audits, reviews, and performance monitoring activities to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
- Supporting compliance with legislative requirements and internal governance standards.
- Building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Always Promoting a professional and positive image of Morgan Sindall Infrastructure.
- Taking personal responsibility and accountability for delivering business objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
We are looking for an experienced operational leader with a strong history in infrastructure or construction project delivery.
- Degree qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline.
- Chartered status, or working towards chartership, with a recognised professional body such as ICE or CIOB.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, standards, and operational delivery.
- Sound commercial and contractual awareness.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practice.
- Strong risk management and risk control capabilities.
- Experience of resource planning, utilisation, and performance management.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams to achieve exacting standards of performance and compliance.
- Excellent operational planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities without compromising quality or safety.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across project and business teams to deliver successful outcomes.
