Contract Manager (FM) Ref: 44031
About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Contract Manager to join the Estates FM Service Delivery team and lead in the management of facilities management contracts across the academic and commercial estate.
This is an exciting time to join the University of Sussex, and the Estates division as we have recently entered the second generation of our outsourced facilities management contract and we have recently achieved first phase completion on the West Slope of campus, adding 1900 student bed spaces as well as a new Health and Wellbeing Centre and social spaces.
The University is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly professional Contract Manager who will work closely with colleagues delivering FM Services to ensure contractual performance is monitored and expected standards are met across all non-residential spaces on campus, meeting the needs of the campus community. Through engagement with stakeholders and the use of data, the post holder will champion continuous improvement and drive change that affects beneficial outcomes.
The post holder will also take the lead on campus life initiatives, working with colleagues across the division and the wider institution to ensure that spaces are being delivered and maintained that contribute to a positive experience and sense of place for students, staff and visitors.
About you
You will have an applied and theoretical knowledge and understanding of FM service delivery within an academic setting, across all key Hard and Soft FM service lines.
You will have experience in monitoring performance of FM contracts, using CAFM data and audit design to draw key understanding of how contracts are operating, with the ability to recognise opportunities and risk. Crucially, you will possess outstanding planning organisational skills and have the ability to build rapport quickly to influence the provision of services across multiple teams covering a wide range of disciplines.
About our Division
The Estates, Facilities and Commercial Services Division is vibrant and dynamic. We are continuously adapting to change and needs of our Students, Faculty, Visitors, and Permanent staff to deliver a great service. You can see our presence all around campus and we work behind-the-scenes to ensure an on-site positive experience for all.
Over the last 5 years we have developed the East Slope, now we are working on the Developing of the West Slope: a mix of student housing and spaces for learning, socialising, and student wellbeing services. We are also thrilled to be working on Sustainability Sussex. Our vision is clear. Our strategic goal is for this University to be one of the most sustainable universities in the world.
