Delivery Manager (Channels & Innovation)- London

About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Delivery Manager, Retail Media (Channels & Innovation) to work for our client within the Retail sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking a Delivery Manager to join its Retail Media function within its loyalty, insights and retail media business. The role focuses on launching new products and services onto the retail media platform and is product-led and greenfield, with little delivery structure in place. You will take launches from idea to delivery, set up the delivery approach as you go, and keep dependencies across teams under control as the scope grows. This is an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and the client needs someone who is self-managing and can bring structure without being guided step by step.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of new products and services onto the retail media platform, from idea through to launch
• Work closely with product teams and set up the delivery approach where none exists
• Orchestrate dependencies across multiple teams and keep them visible as scope and complexity grow
• Own RAID, decision management and governance, keeping them simple and evidence-based
• Surface and escalate risks, blockers and cultural issues clearly, showing leadership where to focus
• Structure and maintain Jira to give one source of truth, and report on delivery using flow metrics
• Give leadership a clear and honest view of progress, risks and decisions needed
• Look for opportunities to automate status reporting and other delivery management tasks

About You

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in delivery management in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
• Experience delivering new products or services in a product-led environment
• Evidence of setting up delivery structure where none existed
• Strong cross-dependency orchestration across multiple teams
• Strong delivery fundamentals: RAID, decision management, governance and clear, evidence-based reporting
• Advanced Jira, including structuring hierarchies, workflows and dependency tracking to give one source of truth
• Experience using delivery metrics such as flow, cycle time and throughput to show whether delivery is improving
• Experience of, or strong interest in, applying AI and automation to delivery management (for example Copilot and for status reports and RAID)
• Proven ability to escalate problems clearly and early, rather than absorbing them
• Strong stakeholder management, including with senior stakeholders, and resilience when priorities shift
• Self-managing, with the confidence to take the lead, challenge the current way of working and propose improvements without close guidance
