- Are children receiving a better education and greater opportunities because their academy is part of EMAT?
- That’s the question that will guide our next Director of Education, and we’re looking for an exceptional leader who wants to answer it every day.
This is a pivotal appointment at an exciting point in our Trust’s development. You’ll join the Executive Team as a full and influential member, leading our education strategy and school improvement function, with a relentless focus on equity, inclusion and outcomes for every child, especially disadvantaged pupils, those with SEND and those most at risk of underachieving.
What you’ll do
- Lead the development and delivery of the Trust’s education strategy
- Drive school improvement and Ofsted readiness across all academies
- Hold executive responsibility for outcomes, closing gaps for vulnerable groups
- Build a culture of professional generosity, where every academy improves and every academy contributes
- Provide clear, evidence-based assurance to the CEO and Board of Trustees
What we’re looking for
- 🎓 QTS and a relevant degree
- 🏫 Successful experience as a Headteacher, Principal or senior MAT executive
- 📈 A track record of leading improvement across more than one school, including moving schools from RI/Inadequate to Good or better
- 💡 Deep knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, SEND and inclusive practice, and the confident use of data to drive impact
- ❤️ Strong moral purpose, integrity and the ability to combine high challenge with high support
- This isn’t about inheriting a fixed model. We want someone who brings experience, curiosity and fresh thinking to help shape the next chapter of EMAT.
