General Manager, UK

Licensed sponsor London Full-time Posted 4 days ago

About Odyssey

Odyssey is led by a two Michelin-starred chef Jordan Bailey and delivers chef-prepared meals to private jets and VIP clients across London, Paris and Miami. Our promise is uncompromising quality, responsiveness and personalisation, every time.

With two years of operations in the UK, we are growing, and are now looking for a General Manager to own the London business end to end.

The Role

The General Manager owns the UK business. Culinary, commercial, operations and marketing come together under one person, with full responsibility for the UK P&L and for growing and protecting revenue across Aviation, events and corporate.

You will lead the commercial and operations teams directly, set the priorities for London, and make sure every team is pulling in the same direction for the client. You will work in step with our culinary leadership so that what we deliver matches what clients ask for, and make good use of the central functions (HR, finance, marketing, compliance).

Key Responsibilities

P&L and growth

  • Own the UK P&L, including revenue, margin, COGS and overheads, and be accountable for the result.
  • Set the UK budget and forecast, and report performance to the CEO on a regular cadence.
  • Grow revenue across Aviation, events and corporate, and protect the accounts we already hold.
  • Identify new clients, new segments and new service formats, and build the case for investment, owning the project launches from start to finish.

Operations

  • Own day-to-day operations in London, including client service escalations, concierge, drivers and logistics.
  • Make sure every order is planned, sourced, packed and delivered to standard.
  • Set clear service standards and measure them: on-time delivery, accuracy, client feedback and cost per order.
  • Make the final call on goodwill gestures, service failures and exceptions.
  • Build backup and cover so that no single person's absence stops service.

Culinary alignment

  • Act as the link between clients and the kitchen. Take client feedback to the culinary leadership and make sure it is acted on in London.
  • Align the kitchen, operations and commercial teams around one weekly plan, with the Head Chef and Kitchen Manager working to a dotted line to you.

People and leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop your direct reports, and hold them to a high standard.
  • Hire well, and build a team that is strong on attitude, energy and ambition.
  • Work closely with central functions (HR, finance, marketing, compliance) and use them well.

Compliance and governance

  • Make sure the UK site meets all food safety, aviation access, insurance and licensing requirements.
  • Keep the site audit-ready, and act on findings quickly.
  • Follow group policies, and raise risks early.

Working Pattern

Full-time and based at our London site in Wimbledon. Our clients operate around the clock, so some flexibility for early starts, late finishes and weekends is expected, and you will be the escalation point when it matters.
