Job Summary

Our client is hiring a Head of Sales Development to run its top-of-funnel engine and the talent pipeline that feeds its sales team. Reporting directly to the CRO, you will lead a 20-strong BDR and Associate function through two managers, and present top-of-funnel data and strategy to the board every quarter.

You will own hiring, interviewing and onboarding, and take the existing sales training programme to the next level with hands-on, real-world coaching. You will also launch a new graduate scheme in September 2027 and represent the business at universities and careers events.

The promotion path is proven: BDRs move to Associate in 6 to 9 months and into a sales seat in 7 to 9 months, with around five people promoted per quarter based on performance. BDRs ramp to 120 to 160 trials a month, and Associates to 80 to 100. From next year, you will also oversee the programme and data for a new US BDR team.

Experience Required

  • 3+ years of people management, ideally 5+, leading large SDR/BDR teams
  • Experience managing managers is a plus
  • A strong coach and trainer, ideally with time in a closing seat yourself
  • High EQ, energy and charisma, supportive but uncompromising on standards
  • A track record of hiring and developing early-career talent, including the people and HR side
  • Data-led and strategic, comfortable presenting to senior leadership and the board
  • Exposure to financial markets in any asset class is a strong plus

The Application Process

  • First interview with the CRO, ideally in person, covering background and management style
  • Second interview with the CRO and two senior sales managers, including a live training session with current BDRs
  • Final interview with the CEO, with the possibility of meeting the Chairman
