- Luceco Group is looking for an exceptional Head of Strategic Planning & Programmes to join us in a newly created and highly visible role.
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Group Executive Team, you will lead strategic planning across the Group and drive the delivery of our key strategic programmes. You will turn our growth strategy into clear priorities, actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
This is not a traditional PMO or programme management position. You will operate at the heart of the Group, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and working across our UK and international businesses to align priorities, manage dependencies and accelerate execution.
With significant autonomy and executive-level exposure, you will have the opportunity to build and embed strategic planning and programme management capability across Luceco Group. You will also contribute to M&A and integration activity as we continue to pursue our growth ambitions.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the Group strategic planning process, translating strategy into clear priorities, plans and deliverables.
- Driving high-profile strategic programmes from concept through to execution.
- Establishing and embedding effective programme governance, planning disciplines and ways of working.
- Partnering with the CEO, Executive Team and senior leaders to provide clear visibility of progress, risks, dependencies and decisions.
- Building alignment across businesses and functions, influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders.
- Developing meaningful KPIs and reporting to measure progress and enable timely intervention.
- Identifying and resolving risks, dependencies and barriers that could affect delivery.
- Supporting M&A activity, including strategic planning and acquisition integration where required.
What we’re looking for
You will be a commercially minded strategic leader who can move confidently between big-picture thinking and practical delivery. You will bring structure, momentum and accountability to complex programmes while building trusted relationships at the most senior levels of the organisation.
You’ll ideally have
- Significant experience in strategic planning, programme leadership, corporate strategy or business transformation within a complex organisation.
- A strong track record of translating strategy into action and delivering complex, cross-functional programmes.
- Experience of establishing and embedding strategic planning or programme management disciplines.
- Strong commercial judgement and strategic thinking, combined with a hands-on, results-focused approach.
- The credibility and confidence to work effectively with a CEO, Executive Team and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and hold stakeholders to account.
- The ability to work with significant autonomy and create structure and direction where required.
- A data-driven and analytical approach, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
Experience of M&A or acquisition integration would be advantageous, as would an APM, MSP, PRINCE2 or similar programme or project management qualification.
Why join Luceco Group?
This is a rare opportunity to take on a role with genuine influence, visibility and autonomy. You will work closely with our most senior leaders, shape how strategy is translated into action and help build the capability that will support the Group’s future growth.
If you are a strategic thinker who thrives on turning ambition into delivery and wants to make a visible impact across an international organisation, we would love to hear from you.
