Join our HR Operations team and help us create outstanding employee experiences across one of the UK's most unique charities

At Historic Royal Palaces, we're a team of people who care deeply about our ambition of being a Charity for Everyone. We’re an independent charity, looking after six extraordinary palaces, welcoming millions of visitors each year and creating opportunities for learning, participation, wellbeing and work.

We're currently reshaping our HR Operations team and have exciting opportunities for:

  • 1 x HR Officer (Permanent)
  • 1 x HR Coordinator (Permanent)
  • 1 x HR Coordinator (18-month Fixed-Term Contract)

Whether you're already working in HR or looking to build your career in people services, these roles offer the chance to play a key part in delivering an excellent service to colleagues across the organisation.

Why join us?

We're creating an HR Operations team that combines excellent customer service with a commitment to continuous improvement.

We're looking for people who enjoy solving problems, finding better ways of doing things and taking pride in delivering accurate, efficient and people-focused support. You'll be naturally curious, willing to challenge inefficient processes, and excited about helping us improve the systems, tools and ways of working that underpin our HR service.

Most importantly, you'll share our belief that everyone matters. You'll help create positive experiences for colleagues and candidates alike, supporting our ambition to build an inclusive organisation where people can thrive.

About The Roles

HR Officer

As an HR Officer, you'll provide a broad range of HR operational support across recruitment, payroll, employee administration, systems and data management.

You'll be a key point of contact for managers and employees, providing guidance on HR processes and helping to resolve a wide range of routine and non-routine queries. Alongside delivering excellent day-to-day service, you'll contribute to projects and initiatives that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of HR Operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous HR administration or HR advisory experience who enjoys balancing operational delivery with problem-solving, stakeholder support and service improvement.

HR Coordinator

As a HR Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of our HR Operations service, supporting colleagues throughout the employee lifecycle.

You'll coordinate recruitment activity, process HR transactions, manage enquiries, maintain accurate records and help ensure our people processes run smoothly and efficiently. You'll play an important role in a supportive team environment where you'll deliver a high-quality service while gaining exposure to a broad range of HR activities and developing your career in people services.

We're particularly interested in people who bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to improving how things work.

We'd Love To Hear From You If You

  • Enjoy providing excellent customer service and support to others.
  • Take pride in accuracy, organisation and attention to detail.
  • Can manage competing priorities and work effectively in a busy environment.
  • Are proactive about finding solutions and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Are comfortable using systems and data to support decision-making and service delivery.
  • Build positive relationships and enjoy working collaboratively.
  • Share our commitment to inclusion and our ambition to become a Charity for Everyone.

What You'll Get In Return

In addition to joining a friendly and ambitious team, we'll offer you the opportunity to:

  • Develop your HR career within a well-respected organisation.
  • Enjoy a supportive team environment whilst gaining exposure to a broad range of people initiatives and projects.
  • Contribute to meaningful organisational change and improvement.
  • Work in some of the UK's most remarkable historic settings, with flexibility for hybrid working where appropriate.

We're looking for team members who enjoy exploring opportunities to simplify processes, improve systems and enhance the experience of colleagues and managers. If you're naturally curious, enjoy solving problems and want to help build a modern, efficient and people-focused HR service, we'd love to hear from you.
