Marine Advocacy Manager
I’m hiring: Communications and Engagement Manager: Marine (maternity cover)
I’m looking for someone to lead communications and engagement for Yorkshire Wildlife Trust’s Marine Programme while our Comms Manager is on maternity leave.
Our marine team works from the Humber to the Yorkshire coast and out into the North Sea, on habitat restoration, advocacy, research and getting people involved. There are a lot of good stories in that work. In this role you’d turn technical updates, field stories and images from across the team into content that’s accurate and engaging, and that makes people care about what happens below the waves.
You’d be
- running our marine comms and engagement strategy and campaign plans
- leading on social media, press and media, including press releases, media enquiries and web and newsletter content
- planning our part in campaigns like National Marine Week, plus key events
- coordinating communications with partners, The Wildlife Trusts and our central comms team
- commissioning filmmakers and photographers
We’re looking for someone who has delivered comms strategies and campaigns, handles media with confidence, and can explain complex science clearly and well. You don’t need a marine background, but if you have one, that’s a bonus.
Location: York or Spurn, hybrid working
