MDS HUB Pharmacy Assistant
1. PRINCIPLE PURPOSE
To ensure MDS trays assembled via the automated robots are appropriately produced to a high standard in preparation for their final checks before reaching the end patient.
The role also will be to assist in the de-blistering of the tablets from the original packs in preparation of the drugs being replenished in the robots in advance of the dispensing of the MDS trays.
The MDS Hub is an automated dispensary where we provide an efficient service to the business’s pharmacies allowing the teams more time to provide much needed services to their patients.
2. KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
The post holder reports to the MDS Hub manager and has key working relationships with the team support leaders and with the whole pharmacy team.
The main responsibilities as a MDS Hub Pharmacy assistant will be to assist with the Hub operation in managing the day-to-day duties such as the de-blistering of medication, the running of the robots and the checking of the assembled MDS trays.
GENERAL
- Perform general pharmacy duties in line with the Hub operation under the supervision of the MDS Hub manager and responsible pharmacist
- Accurately check the assembled MDS trays
- Comply with all relevant company SOP’s, information governance, health and safety policies and procedures.
HOUSE KEEPING
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the MDS Hub
- Complete date checking and cleaning in accordance with the company SOP’s and ensure that adequate records are maintained
- Have due regard for the health and safety for both you and colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic English and Maths is essential
Experience Essential
- Experience of working as a Pharmacy Assistant or as qualified Dispenser
Experience Desirable
- Experience of working in an automated/assembly environment
