Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Analyst / Business Analyst with strong Banking Domain experience to support banking projects, product enhancements, business process improvements and digital transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, technology teams and delivery teams to gather requirements, analyse business needs, define product features and ensure successful delivery of banking solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of banking products and processes, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with product owners, business stakeholders and technology teams to understand business objectives and product requirements.
- Gather, analyse and document business requirements, functional specifications and user stories.
- Conduct workshops, stakeholder interviews and requirement-gathering sessions.
- Translate business requirements into product features, epics, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Support product roadmaps, backlog prioritisation and release planning.
- Analyse banking processes, identify gaps and recommend improvements.
- Conduct impact analysis for new product features, system enhancements and regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with development, QA and delivery teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Support Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
- Assist with functional testing, UAT coordination, defect management and business sign-off.
- Analyse data, business performance metrics and product KPIs to support informed decision-making.
- Ensure solutions align with banking policies, operational controls and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Prepare BRDs, FRDs, process flows, functional documentation and stakeholder reports.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Analyst, Business Analyst or Product Business Analyst.
- Strong experience within the banking or financial services domain.
- Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria and managing product backlogs.
- Ability to work with product owners, business stakeholders, developers and QA teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Excel and process-modelling tools.
- Understanding of SDLC, UAT, functional testing and change management.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and translate complex business needs into actionable requirements.
Banking Domain Experience
Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Retail or commercial banking
- Payments and payment processing
- Digital banking and online banking
- Lending, loans or mortgages
- Cards and transaction processing
- Banking operations and customer onboarding
- Financial crime, KYC, AML or regulatory change
- Core banking systems and banking product enhancements
