Senior Application Architect

UK / Hybrid Full Time £50,000 - £60,000 / year

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Integration Architect for a large-scale integration project, driving digital transformation and cloud migration within a large logistics domain. The ideal candidate possesses deep integration expertise with a cloud-native mindset, is a strong communicator and technical leader, and is familiar with AI-assisted development tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own target-state integration architecture aligned with enterprise standards
• Lead end-to-end integration delivery across multiple systems and teams
• Design event-driven, API-first, cloud-native solutions (NATS, REST, async messaging)
• Create architecture artefacts (blueprints, APIs, ADRs)
• Act as integration authority across platforms and stakeholders
• Mentor teams on integration patterns, API governance, and best practices
• Drive use of AI tools to improve development efficiency

• Solution & Technical Architecture: HLD / LLD, architecture blueprints, roadmaps
• Enterprise Integration & Microservices: REST, Event-Driven, Messaging
• API Design & Management: IBM APIC, Apigee
• Cloud & Middleware Platforms: Azure, AWS (hands-on), hybrid & containerized environments, IBM MQ, IBM ACE, Kafka
• Containers & Platforms: Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker
• DevOps & CI/CD: Azure DevOps, Git, GitOps, Terraform, Helm

Experience Required & Qualifications

• 15+ years in tech, 10+ years in integration architecture
• Proven delivery in large-scale financial/fintech or logistics systems
• Strong hands-on + stakeholder management capability
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
