Senior Clinical Fellow Cardiology and Gen Med

Job summary

We are looking to appoint an ST3+ or equivalent doctor to join our team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, working across the cardiology and general internal medical services. The cardiology team consists of consultants with a broad range of specialist interests, alongside Higher Specialist Training registrars, JCF, Foundation doctors, one ACP and specialist nurses.

This post is being offered specifically on a fixed term basis following identification of short term funding linked to a senior substantive post which is currently being recruited. This role will enable you to consolidate knowledge, skills, and confidence to enable future career progression. The minimum skill requirement is 4 years of post-graduate experience (2 of which to relate to relevant specialty), and 2 years of NHS clinical experience.

Some aspects of the role can be tailored to the individual needs of the post-holder, taking account of previous relevant experience. This is the ideal role for someone wanting to develop clinical skills and decision making in a supported environment. There will be opportunities to work on quality improvement projects or pathway development within the service.

Person Specification

Qualifications · Essential

MBChB or equivalent. Full GMC registration, with license to practise at time of application.

Desirable

ALS, provider certification MRCP Completion of IMT training or equivalent

Experience · Essential

Minimum of 4 years post-graduate clinical experience (2 of which to relate to relevant specialty). Minimum 2 year NHS experience Good understanding of the secondary care environment.

Desirable

Teaching delivery experience (any modality) to UG medical students. Evidence of completing audit / quality improvement project and having implanted change to practice Previous experience of working in acute/ general medicine Previous experience of working in expanded Winter capacity Previous experience of working in a district general hospital without subspeciality cover on site 24 hours per day remote stroke or cardiology on call where services plan ahead for out of hours care. Awareness and experience of discharge processes and interfacing with therapy teams to manage an MDT approach to care.

Skills · Essential

Basic IT Skills Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
