About Us

Centrepoint is the UKs leading charity for homeless young people aged 16 to 25 years that aims to give each person we support a future. Our vision is to end youth homelessness. While we pursue this vision, our immediate focus is on safeguarding, providing vulnerable young people with a place to call home and a chance to acquire the skills they need to build a better future. Centrepoint works directly in London, Manchester, Yorkshire and the North East of England, and collaborates actively with similar organisations right across the UK.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Employer Relationship Officer, based in London, to build meaningful partnerships with employers, creating employment opportunities that help young people achieve their career goals. In this role, you will lead on developing and managing relationships with employers to secure jobs, work experience placements, apprenticeships, traineeships, and other progression opportunities.

An important aspect of this role is working closely with the wider Centrepoint Works team, other internal teams and corporate partners. By building these relationships you will play a vital role in bridging the gap for trauma-experienced young people to access sustainable outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

As the Senior Employer Relationship Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Building and maintaining a network of employers who can provide employment and placement opportunities for young people.
  • Developing strong partnerships with corporate organisations, supporters, and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring young people can access suitable, safe, and aspirational job opportunities.
  • Managing employer relationships to ensure a positive experience for both employers and young people.
  • Creating employer resources, toolkits, and good practice materials that support sustained employment outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to identify employment needs of young people.
  • Promoting the programme through presentations, employer engagement activities, events, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Tracking performance, maintaining accurate records, and evidencing impact against targets.
  • Supporting wider employability initiatives and corporate-facing events

Office-based working

Colleagues are required to spend a minimum of 50% of their working week in our offices and must be able to commit to this requirement each week. For most full-time colleagues, this means attending the office for five days over a two-week period (e.g., two days one week and three days the next). For colleagues on different contracts (including part-time or compressed contracts) this will be adjusted accordingly. Our core working hours are 9:30am to 4:30pm, and colleagues must be in the office during these times.

About you

The successful candidate would ideally have at least two years' experience in client or employer relationship management and have a proven track record of developing successful partnerships. You will have experience engaging employers to create meaningful employment, placement, apprenticeship, and work experience opportunities and will have a passion for creating opportunities that positively impact young people's futures.

You will be highly organised to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records, working effectively towards targets. With excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, you will be able to thrive in collaborative environments so that you can build trusted relationships across multiple teams and departments.

You will work, in line with safeguarding and statutory guidance where required, using a range of evidence informed interventions. You will have strong knowledge and understanding of the importance of working in an equal opportunity and anti-oppressive framework and a willingness to put this into practice.

We encourage applications for individuals that have a background in the recruitment sector.

Safeguarding Checks

Appointment to this post will be subject to the receipt of a satisfactory criminal records check, satisfactory completion of references which covers a 5-year period and satisfactory checks of right to work documentation.

Why join Centrepoint?

In return for your efforts, you’ll receive a competitive salary, excellent training and development, and a host of staff benefits including:

  • 25 days of annual leave per year, rising by one day per year to a maximum of 27 days
  • Healthcare cash plan (Cover the costs of a wide range of medical treatment including Dental, Optical, Complementary and Alternative therapies).
  • Private Medical insurance
  • Income protection
  • Employer pension contributions of 5%
  • Access to Cycle 2 Work loan scheme
  • An interest-free travel loan

At Centrepoint we challenge the discrimination within society that contributes to youth homelessness, and we are just as committed to fairness and equality within Centrepoint itself. We are passionate about ensuring all of our colleagues are made to feel included in the work we do and that we value the rich diversity within the organization.

We are an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications regardless of sex, gender, race, age, belief in any religion and none, gender identity, ethnic origin, class, sexuality, nationality, appearance, unrelated criminal activities, disability, responsibility for dependents, part time or shift workers, being HIV positive or living with AIDS, lived experience of homelessness or using young people’s services and any other matter which causes a person to be treated with injustice.

Centrepoint’s policy is to recruit, employ and promote people on the basis of their suitability for the work to be performed, and to this end, our aim is to ensure that all applicants, employees and volunteers receive equal treatment.
