We are recruiting a number of key roles to join this team, offering an exciting opportunity to work with colleagues across Northumbrian Water, influence important decisions and help develop an ambitious and compelling plan that delivers lasting value for our customers and communities.
About The Role
As a Senior Project Engineer working to develop a technically robust PR29 Business Plan, you will provide technical leadership across complex, high-value or high-risk water and wastewater schemes. Working with colleagues across Asset Management, internal stakeholders and the supply chain, you will challenge front-end solutions and assure safe, innovative and affordable whole-life TOTEX outcomes that integrate effectively into NWG’s asset base.
You will raise engineering quality by providing technical assurance, strengthening standard designs and maintaining the specifications, standards and governance that support consistent delivery. You will lead technical design reviews and assure design and build activities against design requirements and relevant standards.
You will lead the development of a technically fit for purpose PR29 Business Plan representing the Engineering team and providing technical leadership to the wider NWG and supply partners. You will act as lead engineer by directing and coordinating disciplines and stakeholders to support a robust plan and ultimately enabling successful delivery.
You will enable effective commissioning and handover of assets to end users. You will produce and manage key work-control documentation and capture technical learning to improve future project delivery.
You will grow capability and collaboration by chairing engineering working groups and leading initiatives that contribute to Asset Management and company objectives. You will coach, mentor and support Project Engineers, Graduates and Apprentices in project delivery and professional development.
About You
If you have a wealth of demonstrable relevant Engineering industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, we would love to hear from you!
You will have experience of technical leadership, assurance, multidisciplinary co-ordination and stakeholder collaboration in engineering project delivery. You will have a strong commitment to safety, quality, wellbeing, continuous improvement and professional development.
You are a trusted technical authority who applies sound judgement and maintains high standards of assurance and governance, and you are a supportive coach who helps colleagues learn, develop and perform at their best. A relevant degree is desirable, as is Chartered status with a relevant professional body.
