Our platform is a full-stack ‘bank or building-society-in-a-box’, delivering all the functionality needed to run and grow a modern, digital-led financial institution, including native mobile app and web experience, servicing, core and all the back-end technologies, integrated in a single, cloud-native solution (“Bank-in-a-Box”).

Monument Technology provides everything in one solution, taking care of all third-party contracts and integrations as well as ongoing maintenance and future platform enhancements - all for one annual licence fee, allowing our customers to embrace the most modern technology available, without any of the complexity.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Quality Engineer with strong mobile and web testing experience to help build out our QA function. Reporting to the Test and Release Manager, you’ll combine manual and automation testing across iOS, Android and web applications, bringing excellent understanding of modern testing tools, techniques and best practice.

This is a delivery-focused, individual contributor role with room to grow. Day to day you’ll design and execute tests across functional, regression, end-to-end, GUI and acceptance testing, create and maintain automation within our framework, and own defect management from logging through root-cause analysis to verifying fixes through regression.

You’ll review requirements, specifications and technical designs to give timely, meaningful feedback, and liaise closely with developers, fellow QA engineers and product managers to turn requirements into well-structured, high-coverage tests. Over time there is scope to mentor other QA testers and to shape improvements to our QA, testing and release processes.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Design and execute manual and automated tests across mobile (iOS and Android) and web applications, covering functional, regression, end-to-end, GUI and acceptance testing, including mobile API testing.
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback, raising gaps and ambiguities with the Product Owner early.
  • Write detailed, well-structured test cases, including making effective use of AI, and design scenarios covering happy path, negative and edge cases.
  • Create and maintain automation test scripts within our framework, using BDD (Cucumber-JVM), Appium or Maestro for mobile, and Playwright, Selenium or Cypress for web.
  • Use tooling such as Charles Proxy and BrowserStack to investigate issues, intercept and inspect traffic, and run tests across a device and OS matrix.
  • Own defect management: logging, tracking, root-cause analysis and verifying fixes through regression, applying both white box and black box testing.
  • Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate testing activities, and help coordinate third-party testing with suppliers to keep test cycles aligned to the delivery schedule.
  • Manage risks and issues within the delivery and operations of technology systems, making quality risks visible in business terms and holding the line under release pressure.
  • Contribute to building the QA function over time, mentoring QA testers and identifying and implementing improvements to testing and release processes.

WE LOOK FOR PEOPLE WITH

  • A strong background in Financial Services, Agile methodology, software testing and release processes is essential, with excellent understanding of testing tools, technologies and processes, including industry best-practice automation tools and techniques.
  • Around 5 years’ experience across manual and automation testing using agile testing frameworks, with hands-on experience of both white box and black box testing.
  • Strong mobile and web testing experience, covering functional, regression, end-to-end, GUI and acceptance testing across iOS, Android and web, including mobile API testing.
  • Automation and tooling experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber-JVM), Appium or Maestro for mobile, Playwright, Selenium or Cypress for web, and Charles Proxy and BrowserStack.
  • Strong test design and planning: reviewing requirements, specifications and technical designs and giving feedback, writing detailed test cases including making use of AI, and estimating, prioritising, planning and coordinating testing activities.
  • Strong communication and influencing, stakeholder and relationship management, collaboration, analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and a capacity for self-directed learning.
  • Desirable: familiarity with cloud-native and mobile architectures and modern deployment methodologies; experience leading or mentoring a team of QA testers with genuine day-to-day ownership of their output and development; and a passion for staying current with testing best practice and market trends.
