Senior Quantity Surveyor
Leicester - Hybrid

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Bellrock Consulting team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse range of construction and property projects, providing expert cost consultancy and commercial management services from initial feasibility through to project completion.

You'll take ownership of the commercial delivery of projects, working closely with clients, contractors and project teams to manage costs, identify risks and deliver successful outcomes. You'll also play an important role in building client relationships, supporting junior surveyors and contributing to the continued success and growth of Bellrock Consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take the lead on the commercial management of multiple construction projects, providing expert advice and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
  • You'll be responsible for preparing cost plans, feasibility studies, tender documentation and procurement strategies, as well as managing contracts, valuations, variations and final accounts. You'll work with JCT and NEC forms of contract, providing commercial guidance and identifying opportunities to improve value and minimise risk.
  • Building strong relationships will be a key part of your role. You'll work directly with clients, contractors and project teams, leading commercial discussions, managing expectations and ensuring everyone is working towards successful project outcomes.
  • You'll also have the opportunity to mentor and support junior surveyors, share your technical expertise and contribute to business development activities, helping us strengthen existing client relationships and develop new opportunities.

Skills & Experience

  • We're looking for someone with significant experience in a consultancy Quantity Surveying environment who is confident managing projects independently and providing high-quality commercial advice to clients.
  • You'll hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline and ideally be MRICS qualified or actively working towards chartership. You'll have strong experience in cost planning, procurement, contract administration and financial management, along with a good understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.
  • You'll be commercially minded, with the ability to manage multiple projects, identify risks and find practical solutions. Experience working across different construction sectors and managing client relationships will be important, as will the confidence to lead meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised and enjoys working collaboratively. You'll have excellent attention to detail, strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, and a genuine interest in supporting the development of others.
  • Above all, you'll be someone who takes ownership, builds trust with clients and is passionate about delivering great results.
