Technical Sales Specialist
Cyber Security Sales Specialist
- Location: Any UK Air IT office
- Department: Sales
- Contract: Full-time
- Turn cyber expertise into real business impact
- Cyber security isn’t just an IT conversation anymore. It’s a business-critical issue that belongs at board level.
- That’s why we’re looking for an experienced Cyber Security Sales Specialist who can bring the technical and commercial worlds together.
If you know cyber security inside out, but get just as much energy from understanding customers, uncovering risk and shaping the right solution, this could be the opportunity for you.
Working alongside our Sales and Account Management teams, you’ll lead cyber conversations with new and existing customers, turning complex security challenges into clear, practical recommendations that deliver genuine business value.
This isn’t a hands-on engineering or penetration testing role. Instead, you’ll use your technical expertise, commercial thinking and customer credibility to influence decisions, shape solutions and drive growth.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll become a trusted cyber security expert for our customers and colleagues, supporting opportunities from the first conversation through to solution and proposal.
You’ll
- Partner with Sales and Account Management to identify and progress cyber security opportunities.
- Lead customer discovery sessions, understanding their business objectives, security posture, risks and priorities.
- Translate technical vulnerabilities into clear business risks and outcomes.
- Shape cyber solutions that balance risk reduction, commercial value and practical implementation.
- Engage confidently with technical stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
- Deliver engaging presentations, workshops and solution demonstrations.
- Support proposals, scopes and commercial recommendations.
- Help customers create practical, longer-term cyber security roadmaps rather than simply selling individual products.
- Identify opportunities to continually strengthen customers’ security posture.
Bring your cyber knowledge
You’ll have a broad understanding of the modern cyber security landscape and be comfortable discussing areas including:
- Microsoft Security, including Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID and Microsoft 365 security
- Identity and access management, MFA, Conditional Access and Zero Trust
- Endpoint, email, cloud and network security
- Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Security Operations and SIEM
- Vulnerability management and cyber risk reduction
- Security awareness and human risk
- Incident response, resilience and recovery
- Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, NIST and security governance
- The evolving cyber threat landscape
You don’t need to be the deepest technical engineer in every area. What matters is having the breadth and credibility to lead the conversation, recognise when specialist expertise is needed and bring the right people together.
It’s not just about the technology
Great cyber security conversations start with understanding the customer.
You’ll be confident asking thoughtful questions, challenging assumptions and getting underneath what an organisation really needs.
You’ll be able to explain cyber risk without unnecessary jargon or fear-based selling, helping customers understand where they should invest, what they should prioritise and why.
Whether you’re speaking with an IT Manager, IT Director, CTO or CIO, you’ll be comfortable adapting the conversation and clearly demonstrating the value and outcomes behind your recommendations.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with established cyber security experience who is ready to operate in a customer-facing, commercially focused environment.
Experience within an MSP, MSSP, cyber security provider, technology reseller or IT services business would be particularly valuable.
You might have started your career with a strong technical grounding before discovering that your real strength lies in using that knowledge to influence decisions and solve customer problems.
You’ll likely be someone who
- Combines technical credibility with strong commercial awareness.
- Communicates confidently with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Is naturally curious about customers and their businesses.
- Can uncover needs and opportunities through great questioning.
- Builds trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Is comfortable challenging thinking when needed.
- Focuses on customer outcomes rather than simply selling products.
Relevant industry certifications and experience with leading security vendors are a bonus, but we're more interested in your cyber breadth, commercial capability and credibility with customers than a long list of certifications.
Why this opportunity feels different
This isn’t about spending your day delivering tickets, carrying out penetration tests or implementing individual security tools.
You’ll work where cyber expertise, customer strategy and commercial opportunity come together.
You’ll have the opportunity to influence how organisations approach security, work across a broad range of technologies and services, and help shape how Air IT takes cyber security solutions to market.
And you won’t be doing it alone. You’ll work alongside experienced Sales, Account Management, technical and delivery colleagues, bringing together the right expertise to solve each customer challenge.
