Role: Transition Manager
Location: UK (Remote)
Contract: Inside IR 35- 6 Months (Until Transition Completion)
Role Overview
Seeking an experienced Transition Manager to lead end-to-end IT and product engineering transitions, ensuring structured knowledge transfer, stakeholder coordination, operational readiness, and successful handover from the incumbent team or service provider to the receiving team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end transition plan, milestones, deliverables, risks, and dependencies.
- Lead knowledge transfer (KT), documentation, and repository, tools, and access onboarding.
- Manage transition wave planning, readiness gates, exit criteria, and formal sign-offs.
- Coordinate Tier 3 support handover and operational readiness.
- Act as the primary interface between incumbent and receiving teams.
- Track progress, resolve blockers, manage escalations, and ensure timely transition completion.
- Coordinate workforce transition considerations with HR and legal teams, with awareness of UK TUPE requirements.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of overall professional experience.
- Experience leading at least 2 comparable IT transitions.
- Proven experience in product engineering or software/application engineering transitions.
- Strong knowledge of structured knowledge-transfer methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with transition wave planning, readiness gates, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience in technical handover, stakeholder management, and transition governance.
- Awareness of UK TUPE-related workforce transition requirements.
Desirable Certifications
- PMP or PRINCE2.
- ITIL.
