About The Role
We’re looking for a Transport Manager to play a key role in keeping our HGVs, vans and plant safe, compliant and ready to support the essential services our customers rely on every day. You’ll take ownership of Operator’s Licence compliance while providing transport oversight and guidance across the wider fleet, helping ensure every vehicle and item of plant is operated safely and maintained to the right standard.
This is a varied and visible role where you’ll work closely with drivers, managers and operational teams, using vehicle inspections, site visits and fleet data to identify opportunities for improvement. You’ll help ensure vehicles remain safe and roadworthy, support compliance with drivers’ hours and tachograph requirements, and provide expert advice on transport legislation and best practice.
You’ll also have the opportunity to influence the future of our fleet by supporting the design, approval and introduction of both standard and specialist vehicles, helping us deliver safe, efficient and effective services for our customers. As a trusted subject matter expert, you’ll work collaboratively across the business to drive continuous improvement and maintain the high standards expected of our transport operations.
About You
You’ll be a transport professional with a Transport Manager CPC (National or International) and strong knowledge of Operator’s Licence requirements, transport compliance and regulatory obligations. You’ll bring experience of managing vehicle maintenance programmes, drivers’ hours and tachograph compliance, along with the ability to interpret fleet and telematics data to identify risks and improve performance.
Just as importantly, you’ll be someone who can build effective relationships across the business. You’ll be confident providing advice, challenging poor practice where necessary and supporting managers and drivers to make sustainable improvements. You’ll have excellent judgement, attention to detail and the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.
