AI Capability & Value Strategy Lead
Job Requisition ID #
26WD101768
Position Overview
Autodesk is building industry foundation models for the future of Design and Make. This role helps define how we measure progress, assess our capabilities relative to the market, and connect that work to business priorities.
You will set priorities for Autodesk’s AI benchmarking program, measuring how our capabilities perform on real-world design and manufacturing workflows against frontier models, competitor technologies, and industry baselines. You will interpret results and translate them into actionable guidance for research, product, and investment decisions.
You will work closely with AI benchmarking engineers, researchers, and business leaders, with visibility up to the C-suite.
Benchmarking is a key input into business decision-making at Autodesk, and demand for this work is growing both internally and externally. Your role is to ensure that investments in benchmarking provide leaders with a clear view of our capabilities, competitive position, and strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating technical, customer, and business questions. You do not need to build or run evaluations yourself, but you must have the technical fluency to challenge what is being measured and the business judgment to determine whether improvements translate into meaningful customer value. You will work directly with industry product managers to understand customer workflows, validate the relevance of measured improvements, and develop clear recommendations for leaders making investment decisions.
This is an individual contributor role with a path to people management.

- Collaborate on the evolution of relevant human metrics and comparisons
- Partner closely with the technical benchmarking team, which owns task curation and evaluation, to shape future measurement priorities

- Establish customer and industry validation standards for evaluating new business opportunities
- Partner with industry product teams to ensure benchmarks reflect real customer workflows and that measured improvements deliver value customers recognize

- Set priorities for competitive research based on strategic business needs
- Translate meaningful capability differences into research questions and investment recommendations in partnership with AI Research and AI Economics

- Evolve reporting channels and cadences to communicate capability progress and competitive positioning effectively
- Turn complex technical findings into concise recommendations that support research, product, and investment decisions
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years in strategy consulting, corporate or business strategy, technical product management, AI strategy, applied research, competitive intelligence, or related fields
- Ability to interrogate evaluation results, challenge metrics, and assess whether benchmarks support the conclusions drawn
- Ability to connect changes in AI capabilities to workflows, customer outcomes, competitive positioning, and business decisions
- Experience breaking down ambiguous questions, working with incomplete evidence, and developing defensible recommendations
- Ability to collaborate credibly with researchers and engineers while communicating relevant implications to executive audiences without losing technical substance
- Ability to establish a reliable working rhythm, coordinate across teams, and shorten the time between a question being raised and an actionable answer being available
- Demonstrated ability to influence research, product, or investment priorities without direct managerial authority
- Strong analytical judgment and clear, concise executive communication
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in strategy consulting, product strategy, or roles involving structured analysis of complex technical or market questions
