Commercial Finance Assistant

This is an operationally focused role where you’ll work closely with site teams and Heads of Department, helping to create a strong financial control environment while providing the insight and challenge needed to drive commercial performance.

Main Responsibilities

This role will support the effective financial management of the operation, ensuring purchasing procedures are followed and expenditure is closely monitored against budgets and forecasts. You will oversee key financial processes including purchase orders, invoicing, revenue reconciliation and debt collection, working closely with Sales and operational teams to ensure events are accurately billed, paid and accounted for through E-ProphIT and SAP.

You will also support the preparation of monthly accounts, accruals, prepayments and forecasts, providing financial insight to Heads of Department to inform decision-making and maximise the profitability of events and functions. A key part of the role will be identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls, working alongside the Finance Manager to implement improvements across the operation.

The Ideal Candidate

• Good Excel and Variance analysis Skills
• Desirable to have good working knowledge of SAP, Eprophit, Priava or other large similar systems.
• Desirable to have experience of producing management accounts, budgets and forecasts. 4 Desirable to have knowledge of a retail and cash environment.
• Desirable to have knowledge of contract catering.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at senior and junior levels.
• Desirable to be part qualified (ACCA/CIMA)
