OryxAlign is a fast-growing Managed Services Provider delivering technology solutions and high-quality support services to a diverse client base. We have invested significantly in our people, systems and operational capability, and continue to grow our presence across our UK, Cape Town and Manila offices.

Our business is built on delivering excellent service, developing trusted client partnerships and maintaining strong operational efficiency. In a fast-evolving technology market, we continue to strengthen our managed services offering and invest in the talent needed to support our clients, our growth and our long-term ambitions.

Overall purpose

Take the lead on critical infrastructure projects that connect data centres and commercial properties across the UK and Europe. As our Senior Project Manager, Critical Infrastructure, you will own passive cabling and active network packages from handover to closure, bringing together specialist subcontractors, delivery partners and OryxAlign engineers to achieve safe, timely and high-quality outcomes.

Joining our Professional Services Project Management team, you will use your initiative and commercial judgement to keep complex delivery moving, make sound decisions within your authority and build trusted client relationships. If you enjoy bringing clarity to changing programmes and taking accountability for delivery, quality and margin, this is an opportunity to make your impact visible from mobilisation to successful handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own delivery from mobilisation to closure, aligning scope, contractual obligations and plans with the main contractor's programme across design, procurement, installation, testing and handover; adapt priorities as programmes change.
  • Direct structured cabling and active network subcontractors, delivery partners and internal engineers, setting clear expectations and accountability for programme, quality and safety, and taking initiative to resolve issues early.
  • Own project budgets, forecasts and margin; manage payment applications, subcontractor valuations and final accounts, and agree the cost and programme impact of change before commitment.
  • Drive technical coordination and quality assurance, bringing together equipment supply, site readiness and building-system interfaces, with robust factory and site acceptance testing and complete handover evidence.
  • Keep clients and internal stakeholders informed with clear reporting on progress, risks and commercial position; escalate issues early and turn lessons learned into stronger delivery practices.
  • Embed safe delivery throughout each project, meeting contractor duties under the CDM Regulations 2015 and checking subcontractor competence, risk assessments, method statements and local site requirements before work begins.

What we need from our Senior Project Manager, Critical Infrastructure:

You enjoy taking ownership and turning complex requirements into a clear way forward. Working independently within your authority, you use evidence to make sound decisions, take the initiative to resolve issues and know when to escalate. When programmes shift and priorities compete, you reassess what matters, bring structure and pace, and keep several projects moving without compromising safety or quality.

Your leadership sets clear expectations and accountability, while your collaborative approach builds trusted relationships with clients, contractors, subcontractors and internal teams. You are comfortable challenging delivery constructively, explaining decisions and putting key commitments and commercial positions in writing.

You combine commercial judgement with attention to detail, keeping forecasts reliable and documentation ready for testing and handover. You also share knowledge and turn lessons learned into better ways of working. Based in London on a hybrid basis, you will attend UK client sites regularly and travel periodically to Europe, including multi-day stays during installation, testing and handover.

Experience And Expertise

Essential

  • A strong track record, typically five or more years, managing ICT packages on data centre and commercial property construction projects, with ownership of subcontractor delivery from start-up to final account.
  • Experience working under a main, general or electrical contractor, integrating programmes and managing requests for information, technical submittals, progressive handover and a common data environment such as ACC, Aconex or Procore.
  • Sound commercial judgement, backed by construction contract administration and project financial control experience covering budgets, forecasts, margin, payment applications and notices, variations, early warnings, retention and vesting.
  • Practical understanding of active networks and structured or passive cabling, with the ability to challenge delivery, work with lead engineers on factory and site acceptance testing, and secure complete test evidence and as-built records.
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or an equivalent project management qualification, plus a valid CSCS or ECS card at managerial or supervisory level, or eligibility to obtain one. Equivalent qualifications and demonstrable experience are accepted in place of listed certifications, except for the CSCS or ECS card requirement.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work, commissioning and network integration with building or operational technology systems, and awareness of WiredScore and smart building connectivity requirements.
  • Experience delivering projects in mainland Europe or the Nordics, coordinating local partners, logistics and arrangements for staff working abroad, and assuring partner-delivered active network installations.
  • Experience in an MSP or IT services business, including transition to a managed service; ITIL 4 Foundation would also be welcome.
