Software Delivery Manager

Liverpool - Hybrid

Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced Software Delivery Manager to join our Technologies division in Liverpool, taking ownership of software delivery across our Concerto, Mobiess and WiggleDesk products.

Working closely with Engineering, Product and senior leadership teams, you'll ensure software is delivered on time, to a high standard and with clear value for our customers. This includes improving planning, managing priorities, removing blockers and creating a more structured and predictable delivery process.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a highly visible role with the opportunity to shape how we deliver software, embrace AI and automation, and drive continuous improvement.

The role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of three days per week in our Liverpool office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of end-to-end software delivery, turning product roadmaps and business priorities into realistic plans and achievable deadlines.
  • Lead planning, estimation and Agile delivery processes, ensuring teams understand their priorities and remain accountable for their commitments.
  • Monitor delivery progress, identify potential delays and proactively resolve risks and blockers to keep projects on track.
  • Manage competing priorities, including urgent fixes, customer requests and unplanned work, without unnecessarily disrupting planned delivery.
  • Work closely with Engineering, QA and Product teams to establish clear quality standards and ensure software is thoroughly tested and ready for release.
  • Coordinate software releases, including readiness checks, deployment planning and communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with teams across Support, Account Management and Consulting, ensuring customer requirements and commitments are delivered.
  • Promote accountability and collaboration across software teams, supporting colleagues and addressing delivery challenges constructively.
  • Oversee resource allocation, timesheet accuracy and delivery costs, ensuring development activity aligns with business priorities and budgets.
  • Provide clear and regular reporting to senior leadership on delivery performance, forecasts, costs and potential risks.
  • Use AI and automation tools to streamline delivery processes, improve reporting and reduce time spent on administrative tasks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, remove inefficiencies and introduce more effective ways of working.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing software delivery within a technology or SaaS environment, ideally as a Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, Engineering Manager or Technical Project Manager.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, with the ability to challenge estimates, identify technical risks and ensure successful delivery.
  • Experience leading Agile delivery processes, including Scrum or Kanban, with confidence managing planning, estimation and team commitments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure DevOps or Jira, including backlog management, sprint planning, reporting and delivery tracking.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge, influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Experience managing software releases, coordinating cross-functional teams and maintaining high standards of quality throughout delivery.
  • Commercial awareness, including experience monitoring resource utilisation, timesheets, delivery costs and budgets.
  • Practical experience using AI tools and automation to improve productivity, reporting and delivery efficiency.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, remove blockers and make confident decisions under pressure.
  • Experience within B2B SaaS, public sector technology or enterprise software would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of CAFM/IWMS platforms, CI/CD processes and automation tools such as Power Automate would be beneficial.
  • A relevant Agile or project management qualification, such as PSM, SAFe, APM or PRINCE2 Agile, would be welcomed but is not essential.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach, with the confidence to take ownership, support teams and drive continuous improvement.

AI fluency & learning mindset: We are looking for people who actively use AI in their day‑to‑day work, demonstrate strong curiosity about new technologies, and take ownership for continuously improving how they think, work, and deliver.
