Team Lead - Game Production

Licensed sponsor London Full-time Posted 12 hours ago

About the role

Game Production builds our slot games: new titles and the reskins and variants that follow them, delivered against the games roadmap. We are changing how we build - more of every game now comes from a shared framework and reusable game families, so the team can ship more games faster, with fewer surprises.

We are looking for a Team Lead to own this team, its people, its delivery, and its day-to-day flow. You will lead a team of slot game developers, including a Tech Lead, and report directly to the Head of Game Development. This is a player-coach role where you will spend most of your time on people and delivery, while staying close enough to the code to review, unblock, and contribute.

What you will do

  • Line-manage the engineers on the team: regular 1:1s, growth plans, quarterly goals and performance reviews.
  • Own the team's delivery of slot titles against the games roadmap - planning, estimation and sequencing, with several titles in flight at different stages.
  • Work with producers, game design, art, QA and the other team leads so every title moves without surprises, and raise risks early.
  • Balance new-game work with support for live titles, and make that balance visible in planning.
  • Protect the team's focus: new work comes in through the agreed intake, and you push back constructively when it doesn't.
  • Partner with the team's Tech Lead: you own people and delivery, they own technical direction.
  • Help the team build on the shared framework and game families, and adopt AI-assisted development, instead of solving the same problem in every game.
  • Hire and onboard: interviews, 30-60-90 day plans and ramp-up of new joiners.

What we are looking for

  • Typically 5+ years in game client development, including a senior or leadership role.
  • Experience in slot game development: server-authoritative outcomes, RTP variants, certification constraints.
  • Proven people leadership: mentoring, structured feedback, growing engineers and handling difficult conversations.
  • Delivery management on flow-based boards (Kanban or Scrumban) with work-in-progress discipline, across several projects at once.
  • Strong technical credibility in TypeScript and a PixiJS-class rendering engine - enough to review code, unblock the team and earn the trust of senior engineers.
  • Clear communication across production, design, art and QA, and a habit of escalating early and calmly.
  • Experience building many games or variants from a common base (reskins, templates, game families).
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools, and with helping a team adopt them.

What success looks like after six months

Titles ship against the roadmap, and their status is visible on the board. Every engineer has a growth plan, regular 1:1s and clear goals. Work arrives through the agreed process, and the split between new games and live support is planned, not accidental. The engineers in your team are visibly growing.
