Strategy Manager
Strategy Manager | PE-Backed Mid-Market Tech Company
Bristol | 3 Days a Week in Office
Competitive Salary + Bonus + Benefits
Stanton House are partnering with a PE-backed mid-market technology company to recruit a Strategy Manager as it builds out its corporate strategy function, reporting to the Director of Strategy. As part of its value creation plan, the business is delivering an ambitious transformation agenda, and the team is being scaled up to shape it.
This is a chance to help build a function, not join one that is already settled. You will work directly with the CEO, Executive Committee and Board on the company's highest-priority questions.
The team designs and steers the transformation strategy. It adjusts course when things drift and finds new pockets of growth, with a close handover to the teams who deliver it.
The role
- Leading targeted strategic sprints, taking ambiguous questions through to clear recommendations
- Guiding and overseeing the work of analysts, setting the standard for depth and quality
- Shaping corporate strategy development and refresh
- Building business cases to prioritise enterprise investment
- Assessing M&A, partnership and strategic investment opportunities
- Bringing external perspectives and competitive insight to senior decisions
- Producing financial models and Board materials
This is a genuine mix of strategic thinking, numbers and senior communication, so we are looking for someone who wants that breadth.
What we're looking for
- Background at a leading strategy consultancy: McKinsey, Bain, BCG, L.E.K., OC&C, Oliver Wyman, Kearney, Strategy&, EY-Parthenon or equivalent
- 4-8 years' experience in strategy consulting, corporate or commercial strategy, or an industry role with significant strategic responsibility
- Strong financial modelling and business case capability
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience guiding or coaching more junior colleagues
- Ability to structure and present complex thinking to senior stakeholders
- High ownership and comfort with ambiguity
Why this role?
- Help shape and build a strategy function at an important point in its growth
- Direct exposure to the CEO, Executive Committee and Board
- Influence on strategy, M&A, partnerships and transformation
- Lead the work of analysts in a flat, high-visibility team
- Strong pathway into future leadership roles
